The German courses of the DeutschAkademie are based on the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (in short "CEFR").

The Common European Framework of Reference for Languages (CEFR)

is a recommendation of the European Union on the acquisition, use and competence of a language. This standard applies to learners and teachers and defines the four competences: reading, listening, writing and speaking. The CEFR is divided into three levels: "A", "B" and "C" - elementary (A), independent (B) and competent (c) language "ability". The free grammar trainer of the DeutschAkademie naturally also builds on these "can do" provisions, i.e. what a learner "can do" at a language level, and takes this European recommendation into account in grammar, vocabulary and spelling.
