Thank you DeutschAkademie!

The last day we still made normal exercises and talked on class to train our German language skills. Therefore, it was a normal school day for me. But I feel sad that it is already over. I learned a lot and would like it to have more lections at the DeutschAkademie. I hope that I can return one day to here and learn more. After the final class I went out with the other students to have dinner in a very good Korean restaurant nearby the school and we celebrated and had a lot of fun together. I am trying to improve my German from now on alone till I reach level B maybe, then I would love to try to apply myself for a Master at the university and to improve my German so far that I am fluent in it and can communicate with German speakers. I am thankful for all the support from the teachers from DeutschAkademie and I hope they can help also lots of other people too.

Thank you, DeutschAkademie!

Trip through Munich

No I have’t taken a test yet. I am not learning only for the tests. Then, I think its more that you can learn a language properly by using them. The exchange, the curiosity to learn something new, the thrill of new things, of enhancing your horizon which keeps up the motivation. Or what you do after the test? When you learned the language and you did the test, then you check that thing and go on and start to forget the language. Or you arrive in the country which language you learned and you still feel like a stranger. A test can be a reward after some work but it should not be the only motivation for the language, at least not in my eyes. Everybody has its own way of motivating and learning and so far, I wish everybody success with their possible tests of course. I hope they are satisfied with their results.

In the morning, l visited Stadtmuseum in munich, l was impressed by the history of this city, though my German is not good enough for understanding everything, but l still learned some and have a genaral idea about this city which makes me feeling closer to here, and that l see that as the best way to improve my German.

Panda base in China

The best thing what you should never miss in my city is the Panda base. It is a beautiful park, where they raise Pandas and you can visit them and with some luck you even see some baby Pandas. Besides that, there are lots of great shopping malls with very impressive light theatre outside of them. During the night, all the buildings light up and sometimes you can just stand there and watch the lights dance through the dark.

All in all, my city is a very beautiful place with a lot of things to see. The food is great and my hometown spicy is the best spicy food from all. Also, the barbecue is great. The weather is also in general very warm, so being outside even in winter is no big thing and to sit there, having great spicy food and watching the lights making their dance is just beautiful. I would suggest everybody to visit my city once they come to China.

Whatsapp group

The most fun is exchange with others, the group work with girls. My favorite exercises were the one where you had to work together with others. All that gave it a more interesting and funny component. So at the end you could correct and support each other and not only all is depending to the teachers. Also the teachers were so able to help better by getting an idea where each one is standing with his or her skills and how much support which is required. At the end, most people want to talk and not to write to you in daily life. So to talk well is a very important language skill. And isnt everything just more interessting and funny when you can share it and do it together with others?

We girls in the class created a whatsapp group so we can keep in touch and motivate each other to improve German, isnt’t a good way to connects each others with a proper reason?

Best Cafés and Restaurants in town

Usually l don’t stay late at night outside, but I do enjoy drinking a cup of coffee and have a nice cake after class with my friends. I live near OlympiaEinkaufZentrum so l always hang out there. I recommend “Coffee Fellow” in the mall, l even mentioned it in the class when our teacher asks us about our favourite cafe:) I always order a Cappucino or hot chocolate with a Tiramisu cake, those are my favorite combination:)

So l totally recommend it, it is on the first floor of the mall, Im sure you won’t miss it;)

And if you are looking for a chinese restaurant in town, you will still find a good one in this mall, it is called “Haiky “, I am not sure if it is a chain restaurant but everytime l go there, its crowded, when so many people choose this restaurant, lm sure it won’t be bad:). l would recommend their chicken rice with tante sauce, tastes like thai but good.

Daily activities

Since we started to writing german diary, girls will share what we have wrote and it was always lot of fun. We have one british girls, one romania girl and one korean girl and two chinese girls including me. During the break or if we come early to the school we would talk to each other and share about our daily activity and sometimes we also go out to have a drink and learn German together. One thing I love about DeutschAkademie is that we are not forced to study German here, it feels different than in school or univerisity. We studied hard there is because we need to pass the exams and get our diplomas, but learning in here is a choice of our own, which means we are responsible for ourselves and no one would force you to do anything but yourself.

We are girls from different countries but we are now here to learn a new language, some are learning to get a job here and some are trying to study here in the future. We know exactly what we want so we all work hard for it!

Wie war dein Wochenende?

As we did last week, our teacher will ask us about our weekend, what we did and how was it. It is not only small chat but also to review what we have learnt by using them during talking. The expressions in it are quite useful, like “Wie war dein Wochenende”(How was your weekend), we can use it to ask others too. And when answering this question, I found that we always use the perfect tense, in this way, small chat helped me to repeat the grammar part again.

After reviewing what we have learnt before, we started to learn the new unit, this unit is about “Tagebuch”(Diary). When I was little girl, I really like to write diary and to record what I have done everyday, but as growing older, I stop writing diary somehow. But in the class, our teacher told us it would be interesing to write our daily activity in german, it doesn’t have to be long, maybe 2-3 sentences. All of us agreed with her that it should be a good way to improve german. I will start to write my german diary from today and I am looking forward to it!

Attractions in Munich

Today we talked about the some sightseeings and natural attractions in munich. Like Marienplatz, Schloss, Englisher Garten, Chinesischer Turn etc. As the big city as well as a tourist city in Germany, munich is worth visiting and has many options too. We talked about the places we have been in this city and I found out there are also some places which are not well known but very beautiful. There is a map of munich in the book, and we are told to try to tell tourists the directions. I found it very fun because we have learnt about direction expressions, Like “geradeaus means go straight, and links/rechts abbiegen is turn left or turn right.” Actually l only know how to take metros to each of them, but have no idea about a general idea of their location. After practicing this exercise, I have a basic idea about those attractions and how to get to them. And hopefully next time when other tourists ask me , I would be able to tell them in german, haha!

Playing games in class

Yesterday we learned to descibe body parts, but it is hard to memorize all those words in a day, so our teacher lead us to repeat by playing games. When one person points at one part, then the partner should say the german name of it. I have to say we have really good teachers, sometimes when students are obviously tired, she will then suggest us standing up and learning german by playing games, actually it is a really good way to get rid of tiredness. After playing it in a row, I can memorize most of them by heart.Yay! After learning the interesting parts, here comes the grammar part, which is not so interesting and difficurt in german language. We have learnt the past tense and perfect tense. I realized that there are many irregular words to memorize, but it is very thoughtful of DeutschAkademie to prepare us some files to list all the grammar points which helped me a lot to understand and use them. And it is also nice to put up those grammar cards on the wall in the classroom, then we can learn by daily looking.

How to express in German

I believe most of the students who learn german has a purpose to do it. Some may want to study here, and some may want to have a job here. Learning how to express our futute plan or dreamjob is necessary. In the new unit, we learned to describe some jobs and what we want to do. Besides, we also learned to describe body parts, like “head, nose, belly, leg “etc. Also we learned when someone is sick, how to describe their the feelings, like “kopfschmerzen” means “headache”, and how to buy the medicine in the clinic. This is very useful, when getting to a new country, there might be a lot of things that we cannot get used to, for example, the weathe, environment, food ,etc. When man gets sick, then we need to go to doctor to describe it and then can be treated properly. Like once when my eyes feel a bit hurt, then I went to the “Apotheke” to ask for advice, so if I were able to describe hwo l feel, “Augenschmerzen”, then the doctor will immediatly understand and giving me advices.
