Traveling
We all need to travel. Some of us very frequently and others not that much but we all have been in an airport, bus top or a train station. Travelling could be very stressful and challenging.
My own travelling experience has thought me to be prepared and organized. I think it’s very important to know few traveling phrases in German when we are traveling to or within Germany.
The next phrases has helped me to be more confident and to get to my destination without so much pressure. I hope they can help you too. It’s better to be prepared in case you meet someone who cannot help you in English. Prevention is better than cure. So let’s start:
- der Reisepass(passport)
- der Koffer (suitcase)
- der Rucksack(backpack)
- das Gepäck(baggage)
- der Flugschein (airplane ticket)
- der Zoll (customs)
- die Fahrkarte(ticket)
- die Reservierung(reservation)
- Ich möchte eine Fahrkarte reservieren.(I would like to reserve a ticket.)
- Wir möchten zwei Flugtickets nach Spanien kaufen.(We want to buy two plane tickets to Spain.)
- Wie viel kostet die Fahrkarte?(How much does the ticket cost?)
- Gibt es eine Studenten-ermäßigung?(Is there a discount for students?)
- Wir möchten bar bezahlen.(We want to pay cash.)
- Dieses ist mein Handgepäck.(This is my carry-on bag.)
- Wann kommen wir in Berlin an?(When do we arrive in Berlin?)
- Wo ist die Bushaltestelle?(Where is the bus stop?)
- Wo ist die U-Bahn?(Where is the underground train (subway/metro)?)
- Fährt dieser Zug nach…?(Does this train go to…?)
- Wohin fährt dieser Bus?(To where does this bus go?)
- Darf ich bitte einen Stadtplan haben?(May I have a city map please?)
- Können Sie mir das auf der Karte zeigen? (Can you show me on the map?)
Enjoy travelling!
Gute Reise!
