ベルリンで一番美味しいケバプとカリーブルスト! The best Kebap and Curry Wurst in Berlin!

ドイツのストリートフードと言えばケバプとカリーブルストですね。あまりにもお店がありすぎてどれが一番美味しいお店なのか分からなくなってしまいますが、今日は絶対に美味しいお店を2つ紹介します。

Top 2 Street food in Germany are of course Kebap and Curry Wurst! Today I’d like to introduce my favorite place where you can get the best Kebap and Curry wurst in Berlin.

image

まずケバプは「グスタファの野菜ケバプ」»Gustafa Gemüse Kebap»が美味しいです!私はチキン入りのケバプ一択ですが、名前の通り野菜ケバプも売っているのでベジタリアンの友人と一緒に行けるのも嬉しいですね。
For the best Kebap, I’ll say «Gustafa’s Gemüse Kebap» ! I always order Chicken Kebap, but they also have vegetarians Kebap, so your vegetarian friend also enjoy it.

次にカリーブルストならば「カリー36」が美味しいですよ。ザックリ切り分けられたジューシーなデッカいソーセージと、揚げたてポテトのホクホクな感じが好きです。
Next, for the best curry wurst, I’ll say «Curry 36»! I love the juicy big German sausage and fresh fried potatoes with curry powder.

両方のお店はなんと10m圏内に お店があるので、どちらかが並びすぎていたら代わりに別のお店を選ぶのも手ですね。最寄駅は地下鉄Uラインの Mehringdamn駅です。お腹空きましたね〜
Both stores are very close to each other, like only 10m away. So one of them was too crowded, then you can check the another one. Nearby station is subway U-bahn: Mehringdamn station. Hungry now?

ドイツ語の難しい発音、ウムラウトの練習 -Pronunciation practice, words with Umlaut.

image

ドイツ語の発音で難しいのがウムラウトと呼ばれるドイツ語独特のアルファベット。
Ä ü ö の3つです。
To pronounce German words with Umlaut, ä, ü and ö, is one of most difficult par of learning German.

Ä は英語のAppleと同じで、アとエを組み合わせたような音。
Ä is the same sound of A from Apple, mixed up sound with A and E.
Üはウとイを組み合わせた音で、Öはウとエを組み合わせたような音。
Ü is a mixed up sound of U and I, and Ö is a mixed up sound of U and E.

難しいので沢山繰り返し発音して慣れていくしかないですね。発音を繰り返して練習するために、ウムラウトを多用した文章を作ってみました。コレを読み続けていけば、きっとウムラウトにも慣れるはず!?
To perfect the pronunciation, we just have to practice and practice. Therefore, I prepared funny sentences with lots of words with Umlaut! Keep reading them aloud, and maybe someday I’ll perfect the pronunciation? Hopefully!

【 Äpfel ärgern übermütige ansässige Ärzte.】
林檎たちが有頂天な定住しているお医者さん達をイライラさせる。
Apples annoys reckless local doctors.

【 Öffentliche Öle möchten öfter Möhren.】
公共の油はしばしば人参を欲しがる。
Public oils want carrots often.

Fotos vom Kulturprogramm im Oktober

Liebe Teilnehmer,

-Heinrich Schliemann, who has mastered 15 languages by himself.

image

今回は図書館よりトロイア遺跡を発掘したドイツ人考古学者、シュリーマンの本を借りてきました。彼の遺跡発掘へのネバーギブアップ精神も凄いですが、何より彼は独学で15ヶ国語をマスターしたという、私にとっては非常に尊敬する人でもあります。
Today I’d like to talk about Heinrich Schliemann, who discovered Legendary ancient city Troy. His passion toward achieving his dream is surely amazing but for me, he is special for another reason. Have you ever heard of him having mastered 15 languages by himself?

シュリーマン式の語学学習法のポイントは5つあります。
There’re only 5points for his language learning method.

⑴たくさん音読すること
-Read aloud as much as possible.

⑵学習言語を読みまくること。翻訳せず、その言語で理解する。
-Read, but do not translate into your comfortable language.
Try to understand as the way it is.

⑶とにかく興味があることについて作文すること
-Write about something you are interested in.

⑷作文を訂正してもらうこと
-Ask a native speaker to correct your writing.

⑸訂正してもらった作文を暗記、暗唱すること
-Read aloud and memorize what you’ve written.

私はドイツ語学習にあたり、シュリーマン独特の語学学習法を真似してみようと思っており、タンデムパートナーの助けを借りて実際に実施しています。やっているのは2つだけ。⑴子供用の本を読み、文章の意味や音読の為に発音をチェックしてもらう。⑵毎回簡単な日記を書いておき、訂正とより自然な表現を教えてもらう。この2つだけ、やってみてみます。
According to his method, now I’m trying to read a kids book in German, read it aloud. I write diary in German and my tandem partner helps me to correct it. Would you like to try as well?

図書館活用法その2: 子ども用の本と朗読用のCDを使おう! -Kids book with audio CD, the best way to start reading in German!

image

ドイツ語に慣れてきたら、次に挑戦したくなるのがドイツ語で本を読むこと!言語を学習するにあたり、誰もが目標とするステップだと思います。
When you got used to German grammar, now you might want to try one step further. Reading a book in German!

先日紹介したアメリカ記念図書館では、子供用のブックコーナーがとても充実しています。この図書館で驚いたのは、子供用の絵本には朗読用のCDもあるという事。
The American Memorial Library, that I’ve introduced the other day, has one entire floor for kids book. What’s more, they even provide varieties of Audio CD which help you to read in German.

子供用の本をであっても、まだ慣れないドイツ語単語の発音は難しいもの。朗読用のCDを併用すれば、読書の助けになるだけではなく、実際に発音を聞けるという利点があります。語学学校の登下校中に子供用の本の朗読を聴いてみるのは如何ですか?
Even a kids book, some words has funny German way of pronunciation, and you wonder how to pronounce it. With audio CD, you can keep reading while checking the pronunciation and accent. On the way to school and home, why don’t you try reading a book in German ?

ベルリンから小旅行!サンスーシ宮殿を見に行こう!-One day trip from Berlin!! Why don’t you see the Sanssouci Castle?

image

ドイツアカデミーの授業は月曜日から木曜日まで。週末は金曜日から土曜日まで、たっぷり時間があります。ハンブルグなど別の街に行くのもいいですが、週末の三日間のうち、1日を使ってベルリン近郊の街、ポツダムまでサンスーシ宮殿を見に行きませんか?
The Deutsch Academy has class only from Monday to Thursday, that means you have entire 3days for your weekend!! It’s nice to go and visit another big city like Hamburg, but how about a one day trip to Potsdam? In Potsdam city, you can visit a beutiful Sanssouci castle.

サンスーシ宮殿とは18世紀頃にフリードリヒ二世の命によって建てられた、世界有数の美しい庭園を備えた豪華絢爛な宮殿です。ロココ様式の建築は一見の価値あり。現代的なベルリンとは違った、ドイツの華やかな歴史を体感することが出来ます。宮殿内を見学をしなくても無料開放のお庭でのんびりするだけでも楽しいですよ。
The castle Sanssouci was built in 18th century by the king Friedrich the second. The castle has a gorgeous garden and it surely is one of your MUST SEE in Germany. The entry for the castle is 8euro but I recommend you to see at least the wonderful garden.

交通の便から考えてもポツダムは小旅行先にピッタリ!ベルリン市内区域ABチケットに1.60ユーロでC地区分の延長チケットを買えば、隣町のポツダムまでSバーンで辿り着けるのです、簡単ですね!
Transportation to the Potsdam city is also very easy. If you already have a monthly transportation ticket for AB-zone in Berlin, you only need to buy an extension ticket for C-zone and it costs only 1.60euro! Potsdam city is the last station of the S-ban line 7.

語学学校選びってどうするの? -How do you find a good language school?

image

When we choose the language school, we tend to focus on Price, price and Price, but is it really we should only think of? You’ll spend your precious time and what you learn will have a big influence on your life later on. So, today, I’d like to talk about how I decided to pick this school.

⑴友人に聞く、まずはコレが一番ですね。facebookなどを使って実際に学びたい街で学びたい言語を学んだ事がある友人に評判を聞くのが一番です。出来れば3人ぐらいから情報を得ましょう。
First, get information from your friends who have already studied the language in the city where you’d like to go. In this case, Facebook is surely useful to get lots of recommendation or suggestion. I’ll say, 3 people would be enough.

⑵実際に語学学校にメールで連絡をしてみましょう。レスポンスが早いか、文面は丁寧か、この時点で3つのうちどこの学校が良いか大体の印象がつかめますね。語学学校では通いながらレベルに悩んだり、何かと相談することもあるかと思います。その時にすぐ対応してくれる事務スタッフさんがいるかどうか、重要な判断ポイントではないでしょうか?
Second, just send e-mail to every school, and see how they’ll reply you. Some would be quick and decent, and you’ll get certain impression over all of the school. When you go to language school, you might need to go to the office and ask some help. So, in this way, you can check how nice and quickly they would assist you.

⑶現地にいるのであれば、実際に学校に行ってみましょう。生徒と先生の雰囲気、クラスの様子や入学テストのきめ細やかさ(文法、スピーキング両面からキチンと自身のレベルにあったクラスを選んでくれるか)をチェックしましょう。
Lastly, if you are already in that city, why don’t you just go and visit them? You’ll get to see the facilities, classes, and be able to imagine how you’d study there. And don’t forget to ask if they have a both speaking and grammatical entrance exam to see your level. Getting into appropriate class is very important.

私は総合的に判断して、今の学校に通っています。メールも返信は即日、機械的ではなく個人に合わせた解答であり、実際に訪ねた時の相談にも丁寧にのってくれました。言語習得のモチベーションを維持するためにも、是非とも納得の行く語学学校選びを!
This is how I’ve researched this school and how I’ve concluded. I’ve received the reply on the same day, not the mechanical message but very individual one. And people in the office were always nice whenever I had a question. To maintain your good motivation toward your study, be sure to choose the right one for you!

【ドイツ語の面白いところ】 -What’s so fun about learning German?

14643136_1140239072677896_917440961_n

ドイツ語で面白いのは、漢字と同じように2つの言葉を組み合わせて1つの単語にしていくところ。日本語で日記は日程を表す「日」 と書き記すという意味の「記」を合わせて「日記」となっていますが、ドイツ語も同じことができます。日程を表す「Tag」と本という意味の「Buch」で日記という意味の「Tagbuch」という単語が出来るんですね。

As a Japanese, I found learning German is interesting when I compared it with Japanese Kanji system. We can make a word with combination of two or some Kanji, and German works the same way as well. For example, daily in Japanese is a combination of «Day=日» and «writing=記す» then goes like «Diary=日記» And in German, it’ll be a combination of «Day=Tag» and «Book=Buch», become «a diary =Tagbuch».

それぞれの漢字に意味があり、2つの漢字で成り立つ熟語の意味をある程度推測出来るように、ドイツ語でも同様に単語の組み合わせから意味を推測出来る事は面白いです。 Bauという単語は「建築している」という意味です。そこにStelleという「場所」の単語を組み合わせたらBaustelle「建築現場」、Räumという「騒音」を合わせたらBauräum「建築の騒音」になります。

Since all Kanji has own meaning, the meaning of combination of two kanji will be easy to be guessed, and the same method could be used in German as well. For example, «Bau» means «construction» and «Stelle»means «Place», so all together «Baustelle» become » construction site». If I put «Räum=Noise» instand, then it’ll be «Bauräum= the construction noise». Easy to figure it out!

その為、ドイツ語では長い長い組み合わせが可能となります。現在は法改正で消滅しましたが、2000年まで辞書にも載っていた一番長い単語は「牛肉ラベル付け監視業務委託法」。これををドイツ語で記すとRindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetzになります。面白いですよね?

Because of this system, you can combine lots of words all together and invent new words in German. It doesn’t exist anymore because of law revision, but Germany’s longest word on the dictionary until 2000, was «Rindfleischetikettierungsüberwachungsaufgabenübertragungsgesetz» which refers to «the law for the delegation of monitoring beef labelling». Very fascinating, isn’t it?

【ベルリン市内の図書館を使いこなそう!】-Did you already get a library card in Berlin? Why not now?

ベルリンに住む利点の一つに、図書館の素晴らしさがあげられると思います。

ベルリンのミッテ地区では少なくとも二つの図書館があり、私はその二つの図書館を使いこなしながら、ドイツ語学習に生かしています。

If I pick up one benefit from living in Berlin, I would say, Library. Berlin has a really good library system and in the Mitte district where I live, we at least have 2 good libraries and I’m happy to introduce you both of them today.

14686468_1139262929442177_955339630_n

まず一つ目はアメリカ記念図書館。(Amerika-Gedenkebibliothek)ここは地下鉄のU1ライン、Hallesches Tor駅の目の前なので交通の便がとてもいいです。また、ここでは大人一人、年間たった10ユーロの利用料で様々な図書資料が借り放題!特にお勧めしたいのがその豊富なDVD資料。私はドイツ語と英語標記のある映画を借りて、自宅でのんびり鑑賞しつつドイツ語学習に役立てています。

The one is the America Memorial Library, ( Amerika-Gedenkebibliothek)which is right across the street from the U-bahn station called, U1: Hallesches Tor. You pay only 10 euro for a yearly use and you’ll be able to barrow any materials. I really love to use this library for getting DVD, so that I can watch movie in German with English subtitles at home. It really helps me to get used to German sounds and pick up some useful expression from the movie.

14658286_1139262802775523_780292985_n

 もう一つはベルリン国立図書館。(Staatsbibliothek zu Berlin)地下鉄U2ライン Potsdamer Platz 駅で降りて、歩いて五分ほど。ここでは庶民的な一般図書やDVDを借りると言う点ではあまり親しみ易くはないかもしれませんが、その静かさ、勉強のし易さ、落ちつく環境はピカイチです。年間使用料も大人一人30ユーロと高くはなりますが、毎日カフェに通って勉強するよりも遥かにお勧めしたい場所です。

The other is the Berlin Senate Library, Staatsbibliothek zu Berlinand it’s only 5 min away from nearby U-bahn station called, U2 : Potsdamer Platz. This one is more for those who want to relax and study in quiet atmosphere. I go there often after school for homework or further study. Compared to the other library, here is easy to find a table for study and we can concentrate more. The cost of fee is 30euro for a year, but compared to going to a café everyday, I’d prefer to choose this library.

ベルリンにお住まいでしたら図書館を有効に活用されては如何でしょうか?図書館の使い分け、すっごくおススメです。

If you live in Berlin, why don’t you make use of it? Using two libraries helps me a lots to have better materials and surrounding for my study. I recommend you to get your library card today!
