Flea Markets in Berlin and it´s treasures!

Fernanda, 16. October 2019

Hello everybody!

You’ve probably heard about Flea Market at Mauerpark on Sundays and the open karaoke, but Berlin has so much more. Antique Market at Ostbahnhof station has over 120 stands and most of them with furniture, art, design items and books. Happening on Saturdays or Sundays you can find really nice gifts, old furniture, records and antiques. Some of them do not sell only old stuff; you can find also handmade clothes and accessories. Even if you don’t want to buy anything, you can try tasty food from the market. Here’s the official link to see where you can find the nearest market from you: https://www.berlin.de/en/shopping/markets-and-flea-markets/

“Der”, “die” oder “das”? :-)

Fernanda, 14. October 2019

DER

  • ER: Leher, Fahrer
  • ISMUS: Sozialismus, Jornalismus

DIE

  • E: Reise, Biene
  • UNG: Zeitung, Wohnung
  • HEIT: Gesundheit, Freiheit
  • KEIT: Süßigkeit, Schnelligkeit

DAS

  • O: Auto, Konto
  • NIS: Ergebnis, Geheimnis
  • MENT: Medikament, Parlament

“Der, die, das! Wer, wie, was? Wieso, weshalb, warum? Wer nicht fragt bleibt dumm!” (Vila Sésamo)

Liebe gruße 🙂

Lessons of “when”, “when” & “when” at the best German school in Berlin

Fernanda, 11. October 2019

Hello everyone!

When, when, when? In English is all the same, in Portuguese also (quando, quando, quando?), but not in German. If we translate ALS, WENN or WANN is the same. So how do I know?

WANN – it’s only used in a question.

Ex. Wann kann ich gehen?

WENN – you can use in a sentence when the fact happened more than once. Can be used in past, present or future.

Ex. Wenn ich mit dem Fahrrad fahre, trage ich einen Helm.

ALS – you can use in a sentence when the fact happened just once and in the past.

Ex. Als ich ein Kind war, hatte ich ein Hund.

Hope this will help you in your journey at the best German school in Berlin!

Liebe grüβe 🙂

The best German classes in Berlin & your Must-see event in October!

Fernanda, 10. October 2019

Hello everybody!

Here is my advice for all students in the best German classes in Berlin: Every year in October there’s the Festival of Lights in Berlin, an international event and for free. All the art is projections and 3D mapping on landmarks, monuments and buildings. You can make a tour through the city and enjoy places like Brandemburg Gate, Berliner Dom, French Cathedral and German Cathedral full of art and light from several artists. The 15th Festival of Lights will happen on 11th October at 20 pm this year (you can find more information at the website: https://festival-of-lights.de/en/)

Liebe grüβe ☺

30. Anniversary of the fall of Berlin wall

Fernanda, 09. October 2019

Hello everyone!

This year will be a year to celebrate here in Berlin. On 9th November 1989, after almost three decades of a city divided, the East Germany rulers gave the permission to open the gates. In a press conference, he was asked when the new law giving more freedom to travel would be in action, DDR commander said: “As far as I know, that goes into effect now, immediately.” Immediately after DDR citizens went to the border to visit the west side of the city, but the guards didn’t know about the press conference and hold the gates for three hours. After that, people could cross and see the other side.

My first year here I could participate in this amazing 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall. They build the wall with balloons and at the time that people were able to cross to west they release balloons, one by one. I can’t wait to see what they prepare for the 30th anniversary!

My new German class in Berlin!

Fernanda, 07. October 2019

Hello everyone! My name is Fernanda. I come from Brazil and I have been coming and going to Berlin for 5 years. I am biologist passionate for other languages and cultures. After so many years, this time I am leaving in Berlin permanently. After 4 years that I have done the A1, I am studying German again. Last month I started a new German class in Berlin. I was A2.1, and I loved! First of all Dimitri, our teacher, was incredible. With all the patience, he always talked with us in German in a way we could understand; and he stimulated us to do the same. We did a small presentation about our countries nearly every day and on the last day each one brought typical food from our home land. We called “Typisches Essen Tag” and as the photo shows, everything was delicious!

Ride around the city

Sandra, 04. October 2019

Berlin is a very big city, where you can easily get anywhere by public transportation, but biking is my best option. It is such a bike friendly city that you are forced to buy a bike the very first weeks you arrive.
The only downside is that it can be stolen… I have been lucky enough for this not to happen, but with a good lock, you should be ok, just better to keep an eye on it and off you go 🚲.

Museum island (talk sob place)

Sandra, 02. October 2019

On my free time, I like to get lost in Museum Island. Museumsinsel (Museum Island) is a gathering of five museums which are located on a small island in Berlin’s Spree river. It is listed by UNESCO as a World Heritage Site.
The five museums are:
  • Pergamonmuseum (Pergamon Museum)
  • Bode-Museum
  • Neues Museum (New Museum)
  • Alte Nationalgalerie (Old National Gallery)
  • Altes Museum (Old Museum)
I recommend them all!
