Gedächtniskirche (150 meters from your school)
Your language school in Berlin is located opposite one
of the most significant memorials of the Second World
War, the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church, called Gedächtniskirche.
The church is one of the most important landmarks in Berlin
and on the main floor there is a small exhibition about
the history of the church and its surroundings.
Shopping (400 meters maximum from your Language school)
The most popular shopping streets in Berlin are the Ku’damm
and Tauentzienstrasse. 200 metres away from the school,
on the Tauentzienstrasse 21-24, there is one of the best
known European department stores, the KaDeWe, which has
a very interesting history and an outstanding gourmet
floor.
20 Metres away from your language school there is another
very interesting shopping centre, called the Europa Center.
At the Zoo station (400 metres) you will also find a supermarket
open every day, from 9 am until 10 pm from Mondays to
Saturdays and from 11 am to 10 pm on Sundays.
At the underground station “Wittenbergplatz”
you find a supermarket and a big copy shop.
Cafés
Your language school is surrounded by a lot of pleasant
cafés where you can relax and enjoy yourself after
your German classes. The famous Café Kranzler,
situated about 2 minutes away from your language school,
is a good orientation point with its red and white striped
sunshades above the street terrace.
In the Europa Center (20 metres away from your school),
you will also find a very pleasant bar where it is good
to relax. The most spectacular bar is the Skylounge Puro
on the top floor of the Europa Center, where you have
an amazing panoramic view of Berlin.
In the Europa Center there is also an Irish pub, where
you are always made to feel most welcome and can enjoy
live rock music every evening in a very international
atmosphere.
As your language school is situated in the very city centre,
it is very close to the majority of the tourist sites.
Indeed, your German courses take place near Berlin Zoo,
Germany’s oldest zoo with the largest range of species
in the world. The main entrance to the Zoo is located
opposite the Zoo railway station, 400 metres away from
your German language school.
Culture and Cabaret
In the environment of your language school you can also
visit a large variety of museums and exhibitions. At Ku’damm
207 there is an exhibition about the history of Berlin,
which is a very good introduction to new-comers to the
city. There you can experience 800 years of Berlin’s
history.
The very famous Cabaret “Die Stachelschweine”
“is also located in the Europa Center, very close
to your language school.
In the vicinity of your language school there are also
the “Museum of Photography” (Jebenstrasse
2) and the “Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum” (Fasanenstrasse
24).The “Käthe-Kollwitz-Museum” was designed
by the Berlin artist Hans Pels-Leusden at the end of the
1980’s.

You need internet access? A lot of cafés and restaurants
offer wireless LAN HotSpot, e.g. Starbucks at Kurfürstendamm
or Caras World Coffee at Kranzler Eck (Kurfürstendamm).
An Internet Café is located just across the Breitscheidplatz
at Budapester Straße.

Europa Center
A lot of facilities are readily accessible in the immediate
neighbourhood of your German language school in Berlin.
As mentioned before, you will find the Europa Center just
across the street, with large shopping galleries, a new
Saturn, where you can buy everything from Electronics
to Laptops.
Snacks and Restaurants
A snack bar called “Schlemmermeyer” is situated
on the corner (Tauentzienstrasse 16), 5 meters away from
the school and offers a lot of traditional specialities
such as burgers or different types of sausages and fresh
pressed juices. Just the right thing for a small besser:
short break!
You will also find a Mc Donald’s but also many other
restaurants: Chinese, Italian, Mexican…
Shopping
The school is located above the Douglas Perfumery where
you will have the complete choice of perfumes. Many shops
with fashion are just a few steps away as Zara, Mango
or Esprit.
